To start the scripts, expand tar file CRTM.tar NCEP.v2.tar data.tar base directory $BASEDIR In the script BASEDIR is BASEDIR=/jcsda/save/wx20mm/work/SimRad/SimRad_CRTM1.2.2 CRTM library must be generated by running make program at $BASEDIR/REL-1.2.2.JCSDA_CRTM results.tar contains "results" which contains simulated radiances. CRTM.tar CRTM components used in simulation. CRTM_original_tar Original tar files down loaded from JCSDA/CRTM web site. CRTM version 1.2 and updated componemts in CRTM 1.2.2 - The script assumes NCEP vapor system. You have to change the directory for your own system. - Bufr library is used to make bufr file from ASCII file. BUFRLIB is posted from http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/sib/decoders/BUFRLIB/ I started from testforward by Paul, Jack's read DBL91codes and Tong's simulation codes using research version of CRTM. Ron Vogel helped me on surface code. I tried to keep original form as much as possible. Several bugs are found and my working directory is /jcsda/save/wx20mm/work/SimRad/SimRad_CRTM1.2.2/NCEP.v2 on vapor. In this version I put all data under the directory. Tong is looking into simulation of Micro wave radiance particularly surface codes. Haibing is evaluating IR, AIRS and IASI radiance. My codes are having a trouble in making BUFR data for AMSU_Aqua and IASI. Some problems are fixed but still not working.
